2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Engine Mount on 2003 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Begin the repair on the rear engine mount by offering the car support on a hoist and adding a jack to the transmission. Loosen the bolts on the transmission mount, the two that connect it to the engine and take the nuts off the mount. Lift the transmission to separate the mount from the crossmember, after that pull out the mount. Before mounting the transmission, apply a threadlocking compound to all bolts, then tighten the two bolts connecting the transmission mount to the bracket to 61 Nm or 45 ft. lbs. Control the power so the mount is even with the crossmember and adjust the transmission studs until they fit correctly into its slots. Attach the nuts to the studs on the transmission mount with your fingers through the crossmember access hole and tighten them to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
