Before servicing or repairing the front engine mount, take off the negative cable from the battery. Removing the viscous fan before you hoist the engine will protect the
Fan Blade,
Fan Clutch and fan shroud from damage. Lift the vehicle and then remove the cooling fan as well. If you have a two-wheel drive system, remove the engine
Oil Filter and oil drain trough from the system first. Put a jack under the engine and use a block of wood to support the engine
Oil Pan across the entire length; do the same with a front axle jack. Let's begin by removing the agreed bolts that hold up the engine, followed by the three that are attaching it to the front axle gear. Lower the front end and next take out the through bolts. Carefully lower the engine and take out the bolts that attach the mount-to-engine hardware on the left and right. Follow the first part of the 4WD method, but now before you remove the oil filter and drain trough, take off both the skid plate and the front crossmember as well. When supports are in place, remove the four mounting bolts from the engine to the front axle and the three bolts from the front axle to the left engine bracket. Pull down the front axle, take out the six through bolts, lift up the engine and then remove the engine mounts from the left and right engine bays and the brackets for them.
