2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a MAP Sensor on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Before servicing the manifold pressure/vacuum sensor, take off the air cleaner duct and air resonator box connected to the throttle body. After that, remove the MAP sensor mounting bolt and gently slide the rubber L-shaped fitting off the throttle body as you take out the MAP sensor. To install, snap on the rubber fitting to the MAP sensor and then place the sensor on the throttle body, making sure the rubber part goes over the throttle body vacuum nipple. Do this by attaching the MAP sensor bracket with the mounting bolt and tightening it to torque 3 N.m (25 in. lbs.) After that, replace the air cleaner duct and air box.
