2004 Chrysler 300M Oil Cooler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service an Oil Cooler on 2004 Chrysler 300M?
A: To begin the engine oil cooler service, unhook the lines from the radiator, pressure control valve, oil pan fitting, retainer and isolator and then remove them completely from the system. Also, next, you should separate both connectors for the oil pressure switch and the cooler supply line, then get rid of the pressure control valve screws. Alignment begins with putting in the radiator assembly and tightly fastening the lines to their radiator fittings using 18 Nm (160 in. lbs.) of torque. Line up the cooler lines and attach them to the radiator fittings and make sure they are tightened to 18 Nm (160 in. lbs.). Connect the lines to the pressure control valve and oil pan fitting, tightening these to 30 Nm (260 in. lbs.). Attach the lines to the support retainer and isolator in the last step. Begin by attaching the forming body to the block and tightening it to 30 Nm (260 in. lb.), then push the control valve onto the forming body and confirm it is attached by pulling on the valve heads while holding the brass fitting assembly in one hand. If you want to use the original control valve, secure it to the engine and tighten it to 30 Nm (260 in. lbs.), attach the oil cooler's supply hose and tighten it to 30 Nm (260 in. lbs.) as well, before plugging in the oil pressure switch connector.
