2004 Chrysler Crossfire Exhaust Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair Exhaust Valve and Intake Valves on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Begin by removing the cylinder head and then set it down on a workbench. Place the Special Tool C-3422-CF Valve Spring Compressor over the valve spring and squeeze it, then remove the collets. Free up the valve spring compressor, remove the valve retainer and also take out the valve spring along with the spacer. Afterward, use Special Tool 9106 Valve Assembly Tool Case to remove the valve stem seal. Having removed the valve from the cylinder head, check both of its ends for any damage and change any broken valves as needed. Remove all burnt, twisted or warped valves from the instrument and replace them. To set up the valve, insert it into the cylinder head and slip the protective sleeve over the valve stem. Protect the valve seal by lubricating it, press it onto the valve stem with Special Tool 9106 Valve Assembly Tool Case and take out the protective sleeve. Put the valve spring spacer, spring and valve spring retainer over the valve stem. Use Special Tool C-3422-CF Valve Spring Compressor to compress the valve spring and install the collets. Perform the process on each valve, after which install the cylinder head.
