• Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?

  A: Before servicing or repairing the fuel injector, disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the air cleaner housing. Following that, take the screw out of the fuel rail trim panel and take the panel out as well. Let the fuel pressure go via the fuel rail service valve by using the fuel pressure tester and catch the fuel in a proper container. Unhook the fuel feeder line, later separate the retainers and connectors binding the harness to the fuel injector and finally unhook the fuel injector wires from the injectors. Unbolt the fuel rail, move it side to side and gently lift it upward whole together with the fuel injectors attached. Remove all the retaining clips that hold the fuel injectors to the fuel rail and remove the flowmeters at the same time. To fit the fuel injectors, press them into place in the fuel rail and snap on the holding clips. Lift the fuel rail up, connect the fuel injectors and move the rail a little side to side, pushing it slowly down towards the intake manifold. Secure the fuel rail bolts to 9 N.m and reconnect the fuel injector wiring harness to the injectors. Next, fit the fuel injector electrical connectors onto the retaining clips. Attach the fuel feed line and tighten it to 38 N.m, then add back the fuel rail trim panel and screw and lastly put in the air cleaner housing. Next, attach the negative battery cable to the battery's terminal again.
