- Q: How to Maintain a Wiper Arm on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?A: To maintain the wiper arm, open the hood and maximize the prop that holds it open. Take the arm of the wiper up to its over-center position and gently pull the plastic nut cap off the pivot end of the wiper arm. Take out the attachment nut on the wiper arm from the wiper pivot shaft and then use the right battery terminal puller to free up the wiper arm from the splines on the wiper pivot shaft. When the clips have come off, take out the wiper arm pivot end from the wiper pivot shaft. After installation, place the end of the wiper arm holding the pivot back on the wiper pivot shaft, then screw on the wiper arm attachment nut. Gently drop the wiper arm down so the wiper blade hits the glass, then put the edge of the blade against the alignment mark on the windshield and tighten the nut that holds the wiper arm. Afterward, push the plastic plastic nut cap over the attachment nut, remove the hood prop, lower the prop outer sleeve and close the hood.
