2004 Chrysler Pacifica Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Exhaust Manifold on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: You should unplug the battery cable from the negative terminal and also the upstream oxygen sensor electrical cable to remove the right exhaust manifold. After that, take out the bolts from the exhaust manifold crossover pipe and support the vehicle, then detach the downstream oxygen sensor wire connection. Remove the bolts from the exhaust manifold flange and unhook the hangers of the exhaust system from the pipe assembly and then lift out the exhaust from the vehicle. After unbolting the support bracket and lower exhaust hangers, take out the oxygen sensor from the manifold. Having inspected the manifolds for damage, cracks and flatness, also inspect the gasket visually or by bending it with the straightedge and make sure the cylinder head mounting surface is undistorted using the straightedge and thickness gauge. Take care to clean the gasket surfaces around the exhaust manifold, put them in position, add the bolts and tighten them from center to edge, using a torque wrench at 23 Nm (200 inch lbs.). Connect the exhaust system hangers and put in the three exhaust manifold flange retaining bolts, tightening them to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Secure the downstream oxygen sensor to its electrical connector, secure the EGR bracket, bring the vehicle down and install the crossover pipes' bolts, tightening them to 31 Nm (275 inch lbs.). After that, match up the electrical connector from the upstream oxygen sensor and the negative battery cable.
