2004 Chrysler Pacifica Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Pressure Regulator on the Passenger Side of the Fuel Tank on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Start by releasing the fuel pressure using the procedure in the Fuel Pressure Release section before using this procedure to service and repair the fuel pressure regulator. Break the connection to the negative battery and take out the fuel tank as well. Make sure to vacuum before you take out the module lock ring and remove the lines from the top of the module. With a brass punch, lift out the 1/4 turn lock ring, then drain the fuel tank with a safety station and remove the module from the fuel tank. Push down on the tab on the connector to take out the ground wire from the side of the regulator. Fit a socket onto the four tabs, then use it to compress them, after which you should pry up to remove both the regulator and the O-rings. Set the O-rings on the regulator at first, rub clean oil on each one and push everything into the engine block. With the seal in its proper place in the groove of the fuel tank, secure the module, ground wire and seal again. Screw the module lock ring in using a brass punch, so that all five tabs are snugly in place. Join the fuel line and vapor lines, put back the fuel tank, reattach the negative battery cable and refill the fuel tank. Connect the Drbiii(R) and pressurize the fuel system to find if there are any leaks.
