2004 Chrysler Pacifica Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Level Sensor on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Step one is to disconnect the negative battery cable and release the fuel pressure before touching the fuel level sensor. Disconnect the fuel tank and vacuum the whole space before removing the module lock ring. Disconnect the vapor line and the wires for the first connector, then remove the lock ring by turning it a quarter of a turn and using a brass punch. After removing the module top and turning it to the side, drain the fuel from the reservoir, then drain the fuel tank with an approved station. Untie the electrical connector to the fuel level sensor card, then press and lift away the card by reaching under the tabs, both located, one at the front and one at the back. Place the sensor card into the module and plug its electrical connector back in for the installation. First, mount the module top with all alignment pins set up, then insert the module into the tank so the level unit faces toward the rear. Replace the tank seal and place it to the side on the groove. Next, add the module lock ring over it using a brass punch to screw in the 1/4 turn lock while making sure the tabs fit well. After the fuel lines are bled, hook the vapor line and electrical connector, reinstall the fuel tank, reconnect the negative battery cable and fill up the tank. With the Drbiii(R) scan tool, create fuel system pressure and monitor for any leaks.
