How to Effectively Service and Repair an Alternator on 2004 Dodge Dakota?

In order to fix the alternator, one has to unconnect the negative battery cable and take away the air inlet tube. Ease the accessory drive belt then the generator bolts. Before removing the generator, disconnect generator B+ cable and harness connectors. To re-install, connect the cables, fix the generator and reconnect the belt and battery cable.
