Before changing the alternator, detach the negative
Battery Cable to keep the electric system from getting harmed or damaged. As explained in the Cooling System procedures, remove the generator
Drive Belt from the engine. Unsnap the cover of the cable at the B+ mount. Take out the pivot and the bolts/nut attached to the generator, then line up the generator so you can reach its wire connectors. Take out the locknut at the generator's rear and disconnect the B+ terminal. Come next, disconnect the field wire connector by pressing the connector tab and pulling it out of the generator and take the generator from the vehicle. Team up the generator with your engine and plug the field wire connector into the bottom of your generator. Put the B+ terminal onto the generator stud and screw the mounting nut securely with 12 Nm (108 in. lbs.) of torque. Secure the generator with its bracket bolts and turn the generator mounting bolt and pivot bolt to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.) torque. Don't use a screwdriver to stretch a belt over the pulley; this can harm the belt's material. Also, be sure the belt is positioned to stop the
Water Pump from rotating in the other direction, as this can lead to engine overheating. After that, fit the generator drive belt, pin the cable protector cover to the B+ mounting stud and attach the negative battery cable again.
