2004 Dodge Durango Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2004 Dodge Durango?
A: Start by disconnecting the negative battery cable from the terminals at the battery when servicing or repairing the cruise control servo. After that, separate the vacuum line and the electrical wires worn by the servo. Take out the three screws holding the servo and disconnect the cable at the place where it connects to the throttle body. Then, take out the nuts that connect the cable sleeve of the servo to the bracket and pull the servo and the speed control cable sleeve away to reveal and remove the cable retaining clip. Observe the direction in which the servo is attached as you take it out of the mounting bracket. To install, put the servo where the mounting bracket is and position the hole on the cable connector with the same spot on the servo pin and then clip in the cable-to-servo retainer. Take the end of the servo that has studs and fit them through the holes in the mounting bracket. Then, securely fasten the two nuts. Mount the servo assembly on the right lugs on the bottom of the Power Distribution Center and tighten the three screws. After that, rehook the vacuum line and the electrical connector on the servo and also connect the servo cable to the throttle body. After the negative battery cable is back in place, run the accelerator pedal to see if anything is preventing free movement.
