What is the Proper Way to Service an Oil Filter on 2004 Dodge Neon?

In order to replace the oil filter, apply a proper tool to ensure that it does not deform. Insert the wrench strap along the seam of the bottom of the filter and twist counterclockwise to remove the strap. Clean mounting surface, lubricate new gasket and screw filter into place using a tightening force of 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs).
