2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Before servicing the input speed sensor, lift the vehicle and set a fluid catch pan beneath the transmission. Remove the electrical connection from the speed sensor on the motor and remove the bolt that holds it in the transmission next, taking out the sensor. Once you have the sensor, place it back into place, secure it using the bolt and tighten it up to 11.9 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Afterwards, link the speed sensor wire again, see if the transmission fluid needs more and pour it in as required before you lower the car.
