How to Service and Repair Wheel Bearings on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?

Start by taking out the axle shaft from the vehicle; afterward, use a small pry bar to unseat the seal inside the axle tube and remove them both with the bearing removal tool. After that, unscrew the axle shaft bearing using Bearing Remover 6310 and Foot 6310-9. During installation, make sure the axle tube bore is very clean and all old sealer or burrs are gone. Put the axle shaft bearing into place with the C-4198 installer and the C-4171 handle, driving in the bearing until it contacts the axle tube. Before you install the new seal, grease the inside edge of the seal with axle lubricant and use Installer C-4076-B and Handle C-4735-1 to put it into place until the tool hits against the axle tube. After that, connect the axle shaft and the differential cover, adding gear lubricant to the fill plug hole until it reaches the bottom.
