How to service a Crankshaft Timing Gear on 2004 Dodge Ram 2500?

In order to service the crankshaft timing gear, the gear covering will have to come off and a puller will be used to loosen the gear. Make the crankshaft surface smooth and in case necessary install a new alignment pin. Preheat the gear at 149°C, lubricate the crankshaft and fit the gear with the timing mark facing out.
