2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: In order to service and repair the fuel injector you first have to release the fuel system pressure since the engine is pressurized constantly, even when it is off. Start out by dropping the fuel rail assembly from the engine. After the fuel system pressure release, remove the rail by removing the injector fuel rail. Next, pull the clips out of the injectors to the fuel rail and pull the injectors out of the rail. Apply a small amount of engine oil to each Fuel Injector O Ring to aid in installation of the Fuel Injector into the fuel rail. Reattach the fuel rail assembly and reinstall the injectors and their clips, onto the fuel rail. Next, start the engine and take a look at any leaks.
