2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain Your Rear Shock Absorber on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To work on the rear shock absorber, first place a hydraulic jack under the axle, making sure the suspension arm ball joint is not the only thing hanging from the axle. Remove the upper nut and bolt from the frame bracket, after that, the lower nut and bolt from the axle bracket to take away the shock absorber. Mount the shock absorber in the frame bracket by bolt and nut, then do the same for the axle bracket. Tighten the upper mounting nuts to 108 Nm and tighten the lower mounting nuts to 115 Nm. Get rid of all the supports and gently drive the vehicle away.
