2005 Chrysler 300 Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service an Air Bag Sensor in the C-Pillar on 2005 Chrysler 300?
A: Before touching the C-pillar mounted side impact sensor, first cut off and isolate the battery negative cable to wait a couple of minutes for the air bag system reserve capacitor to discharge which will help protect you from accidental air bag activation. After that, pull off the C-pillar trim panel, disconnect connector 3 and remove the two screws 2. When attaching the unit, fix the C-pillar mounted impact sensor in place and install the two body mounting screws 2 firmly, tightening them to 7 N.m (62 in.lbs.) After that, refit the electrical connector 3 and clip on the C-pillar trim panel again. Do not connect the battery negative cable until testing the system to avoid any chance of personal injury or death.
