2005 Chrysler Crossfire Coolant Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Coolant Reservoir on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: You should first disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal and drain a part of your cooling system for service of the coolant recovery reservoir. After that, unplug the small coolant hose from the reservoir, disconnect the bottom large coolant hose, take out the coolant level sensor harness and unplug the coolant overflow hose from the unit (1). Remove the two nuts on either end and then carefully remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Place the coolant recovery container in the engine area and make sure the two retaining nuts (2) are tightened to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.). Attach coolant overflow hose (1) to the engine, secure coolant level sensor harness connector (2) to its location, link the small hose you removed from the radiator (4) to the top of the reservoir and fasten the large hose coming from the radiator to the bottom of the reservoir. Restock the cooling system, connect the negative battery cable back to its terminal, turn on the engine, find any leaks and review the coolant level again.
