2005 Chrysler Pacifica Engine Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Steps Should Be Taken Before Replacing the Engine Control Module for a Failed Driver, Control Circuit, or Ground Circuit on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Be sure to check the related component and circuit before replacing the Pcm in case the driver, control circuit or ground circuit fault was hidden by a double fault. Many Pcm driver and control circuit failures are caused by 12-volt pull-ups, drivers or ground sensors that can be hard to detect when a double fault takes place and just one Dtc is set. For both Pcm and Skreem to be replaced together, first put the vehicle's Vin into the Pcm and then all vehicle keys need to be replaced and set up on the new Skreem. The Pcm should always be programmed with the unique Skrees Secret Key stored in the Skreem, engine controller and transponder chip. Once the Pcm is replaced, use the Drbiii(R) to select Theft Alarm, Skreem, Miscellaneous and turn on Pcm Replaced after resigning the vehicle. To use secured access mode, enter the vehicle's Pin, as doing this more than three times wrongly in a row will make the feature unusable for an hour. First, let the engine run after turning the ignition to run mode for one hour, then type in the Pin, but remember to turn off all accessories and keep an eye on the battery, attaching a battery charger if life isn't back in the system. When done, hit Enter to transfer the secret key onto the Pcm.
