2005 Chrysler Pacifica Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Upper Intake Manifold on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before serving the upper intake manifold, unplug the negative battery cable, remove the air cleaner housing and its hose and then take off the engine cover. Disconnect the throttle and speed control cables from the throttle arm and bracket and then remove the two bolt retaining bolts from the bracket so you can move the cables and bracket assembly aside. After that, take out the oil fill tube from the oil fill tube retaining bolt and the oil level tube from the upper intake manifold retaining bolt. Release any electrical connections from the Manifold Tuning Valve (MTV), Short Runner Valve, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Idle Air Control (IAC) and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensors. Take out the support arm for the alternator and disconnect the EGR filter and its associated vacuum hoses from the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve, the EVAP Purge Solenoid and the Power Brake Booster. Remove the front and rear brackets holding the intake manifolds, then take out the upper intake manifold bolts and the manifold itself. As you go, clean the gasket sealing places. To install the car, clean and look over the throttle body's gasket areas, add a fresh gasket and put the throttle body atop the upper intake if necessary. Attach the upper intake manifold and start all the fastening bolts using hand power, gradually tighten them from the middle to center out to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Put the front and rear intake manifold support brackets in place and then secure the oil level indicator and oil fill tube to intake manifold bolts. Bring the vacuum pipe from the intake valve to the PCV Valve, EVAP Purge Solenoid and the Power Brake Booster. Put on the alternator support bracket and attach the specified electrical connectors to the MTV, EGR, TPS, IAC and MAP sensors. Then, add the throttle and speed control cable bracket, attach the bolts, fasten the cables to their anchors, install the air cleaner housing and connecting pipe, replace the engine cover and reconnect the negative battery cable.
