2004 Chrysler Pacifica Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Intake Manifold on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: You should perform the fuel pressure release process and then drain the cooling system to service the lower intake manifold. Take off the upper radiator hose attached to the thermostat housing and remove the upper intake manifold too. Change the location of the power steering fluid reservoir and bracket and also unplug the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and coolant temperature sensor. After that, remove the exhaust cross over retaining bolt, detach the heater hose from the intake manifold, unclip the coolant container hose at the thermostat housing and take off the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail. After removing the bolts that attach the fuel rail, lift up the rail and injectors together. Take out the low intake bolts and remove the intake manifold. When putting in the new gaskets, position them and the intake manifold over the clean surfaces of the cylinder head, then start adding intake manifold bolts and tighten each one in step as you work your way around the manifold until reaching a torque of 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.). Fit the assembly of the fuel rail and injectors, attach the fuel supply hose to the fuel rail and attach the heater hose back to the intake manifold. Add the coolant container to the thermostat, secure the exhaust cross over retaining bolt to the intake manifold and make the electrical connections between the fuel injectors, coolant sensor and their power cables. Next, put back the power steering fluid reservoir, bracket, upper intake manifold, connect the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing and fill the cooling system.
