  • Q: How to Maintain the Thermostat on a 3.5L Engine on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: When changing the engine thermostat, allow the system to cool down and remove any pressure to prevent being burned by the coolant. You should remove the negative aftermarket cable from the remote jumper terminal and empty the cooling system to begin. After that, break the connection between the radiator and thermostat housing and then unbolt the housing, remove it, the thermostat and the gasket. When installing, prepare the gasket surfaces, mount the thermostat into the thermostat housing and secure them using bolts. Place the thermostat and housing on the intake manifold, then tighten the bolts using a torque settings of 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Attach the radiator hoses and fit a hose clamp, add the coolant and lastly, hook the negative cable to the remote jumper terminal.
