  A: The service of the engine coolant thermostat starts by taking off the upper intake manifold and part way draining the surrounding coolant area below the thermostat. Now, loosen and remove the upper radiator hose and coolant recovery system hose from the outlet connector, disconnect the bolts and remove the thermostat assembly, cleaning each sealing surface as you go. To set up the new thermostat, line up the air bleed on the thermostat with the small notch found at the end of the coolant outlet connector. Put the coolant outlet connector and thermostat onto the thermostat housing, closing the bolts to the value of 12.5 Nm (110 inch lbs.). Attach the upper radiator and coolant recovery hoses to their proper locations and put in the upper intake manifold. After that, add coolant to fill the cooling system.
