2005 Dodge Durango Door Handle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Door Handle on 2005 Dodge Durango?
A: The first thing to do is take off the watershield to service and repair the front door exterior handle. Subsequently, unLFt bolt 3 and nut 2 and leave the rear glass run channel 1 aside. Start by freeing up links 1 and 3 from latch 4, take out nut 4, handle 2 and then disconnect electrical connector 1. Cut the track where links 3 and 5 meet, when links 1 and 4 come next to each other and remove the lock cylinder 2. First, attach links 3 and 5 in clips 1 and 4 and then place lock cylinder 2 onto the exterior handle for installation. Link connector 1 and place handle 2 onto the door. Set nuts 4 and tighten them to a torque of 5 N.m (45 in.lbs.). Attach links 1 and 3 to latch 4, place the rear glass run channel in its correct spot and put the nut and bolt in place, turning the fasteners to 70 in.lbs. At the end, attach the watershield once again and change the latch if needed.
