How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal on 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Take out the transaxle and the flex plate before starting to service and repair the crankshaft main bearing seal. Following that, insert a 3/16 flat bladed pry tool inside the dust lip and against the crankshaft metal case so the blade presses against the chamfer, but not the surface of the seal. If the crankshaft has any burrs or scratches on the chamfer, remove them with 400 grit sandpaper to prevent seals from being damaged when you add a new seal. Set Special Tool 6926-1 magnetic pilot tool on the crankshaft and then slide the seal over the top of the Pilot tool. Put Special Tool 6926-2 Installer into C-4171 Handle and then drive the seal tightly into the retainer housing. Next, install the flex plate and the transaxle again.
