Q: How to Service the Front Brake Disc on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Before working on the front disc, raise and support the car, take off the wheel and tire and make sure the brake hose does not hold up the caliper adapter assembly. After that, pull the caliper away from the steering knuckle and get rid of the caliper adapter assembly. Remove the extension from the disc nuts before taking off the disc from the hub/bearing wheel studs when using HD DRW models. If you have an ABS vehicle, examine the tone wheel on the hub/bearing; if any teeth are damaged, the whole assembly should be replaced as only ABS tone wheels are available. Place the hub extension and nuts to the front disc and tighten them by 130 Nm for HD DRW models. Attach the disc to the hub/bearing wheel studs, insert the caliper adapter assembly and tighten the adapter bolts. After you fit the wheel and tire assembly, lift the vehicle again, apply the brakes several times to seat the pads and lower it once for a reliable brake pedal before you drive off.
