2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Brake Line Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Front Brake Line on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Attach a prop rod to the brake pedal before any front brake service, so the brake pressure does not decrease and all the air does not drain out of the system. After that, lift and hold up the vehicle and take off the tire and wheel group. Take the brake hose from the brake line at the frame and remove the brake hose banjo bolt from the caliper. Take out the bolt that connects the brake hose to the frame and disconnect the wire from the brake hose. After the old hose is out, insert the new hose and hold it in place with the mounting bolt at the frame. Put the banjo bolt back on the caliper and attach the wheel speed sensor wire to the brake hose again. Adjust the car to a lower position, remove the prop from the brake pedal and use the bleeding process on the affected section of the brake system. In case the pedal doesn't feel right when you bleed the brakes, use the base bleed system.
