2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Does a Brake Booster Self-Bleed During Normal Operation on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Hydraulic brakes are usually set up so that air bubbles are shed by themselves and driving regularly helps to clear them. The original fill for the power steering pump reservoir should be the starting point. Following that, remove the fuel shutdown relay and start the engine for a couple of seconds before checking the oil level. Put the fuel shutdown relay back, start the vehicle and turn the steering wheel back and forth twice. When you finish driving, press the brake pedal five times to drain the accumulator. Turn the engine on a second time, then slowly rotate the steering wheel from locked to unlocked two times. When you are done, shut off the car and see if you need to add any fluid to the reservoir. Should foam form, let it dissolve and carry out the previous two steps again.
