How to Service and Repair a Wheel Bearing on a 9 1/4 Rear Axle on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?

First, remove the rear axle shaft and then take the axle shaft seal out of the axle tube using your small pry bar. At the same time, the seal and bearing can be removed using the bearing removal tool. After that, apply Bearing Remover 6310 and use Foot 6310-9 to take out the axle shaft bearing. When installing, remove any old sealer and scrub any burrs in the axle tube bore. Using the tool C-4198 and handle C-4171, pull the shaft bearing towards the tube until the tool ceases to move, so that the part number of the bearing faces the installer. Apply lubricant to the edge of the seal and push it into the axle tightly with Installer C-4076-B and Handle C-4735-1. Attach the shaft to the axle, install the differential cover and use oil to fill it up to close to the bottom hole.
