2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Parts and Q&A
Q: What Are A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches and How to Service Them on 2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: To start working on the Low Pressure Sensor / Switch, first take off the battery's negative cable, put the rear AC evaporator housing cover aside and release the refrigerant stored in the system at the back. From there, extract the insulating tape from the A/C low pressure switch found at the back, disconnect the harness connector and remove the switch. Be sure to insert a plug into or wrap tape around the opened rear suction line fitting while you remove the switch. After putting in the new switch, you must replace the PTFE tape since it helps stop leaks. Take out the tape or plug from the rear suction line fitting, put PTFE thread sealing tape on the new rear A/C switch and fit it onto the line by tightening it 10 N.m (88 in. lbs.). Link the wiring harness connector to the switch, place fresh tape around the switch, hook up the battery cable again, discharge all the gas, charge the system and attach the cover to the back A/C evaporator housing.
