2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Section of an A/C Hose on 2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Before working on the HVAC hose/line, let out the refrigerant and remove the negative battery cable. Release the nut on the A/C suction and liquid lines that join to the A/C expansion valve, then separate the lines and throw out the O-ring seals. Loosen the routing clip retainer at the back end of the A/C liquid line and after releasing the bolt near the top of the receiver/drier, detach the rear section of the liquid line from it. Remove the seal from the liquid line fitting outlet port and put plugs or tape over the exposed liquid and suction line outlets, the receiver/drier and expansion valve ports. Remove the rear portion of the liquid line from inside the engine area. Connect the rear end of the A/C liquid line into the engine area and remove the tape or plugs from each fitting. Cleanly grease the O-ring seals on new rubber rubber parts with refrigerant oil and fit them onto both suction and liquid line ends of the expansion valve, then attach these line ends to the expansion valve. Screw in the nut on the fixture all the way, using a torque wrench for 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.). Apply clean refrigerant oil to a new rubber O-ring seal, set it on the liquid line fitting and then attach it to the receiver/drier outlet port. Secure the bolt holding the liquid line fitting to the receiver/drier with 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.) of force and then attach the routing clip retainer to the liquid line's rear part. Put the negative battery cable back into place, let the refrigerant system run while empty and refill it as instructed.
