2005 Dodge Stratus Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2005 Dodge Stratus?
A: Start by turning off the air bag system for vehicles with air bags by removing the negative battery cable and waiting for two minutes for the capacitor to unload all its charge. Make sure the blower motor hasn't been used for the past five minutes so the resistor can properly cool. Take the silencer panel off from the right side of the instrument panel. After that, remove the wire harness connector from the blower motor resistor at the base of the HVAC housing. After removing the two screws that keep the blower motor resistor attached to the HVAC housing, pull out the resistor. When installing, fit the new blower motor resistor into the HVAC housing and hold it in place with the two screws, tightening them to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Connect the wire harness to the blower motor resistor, put the silencer panel back and lastly link the negative battery cable.
