How to maintain a thermostat housing on 2005 Jeep Liberty?

To service the thermostat housing, drain the cooling system, remove the thermostat, disconnect the coolant temperature sensor and the heater hose, remove the housing and gasket. Clean the surfaces and install the gasket and housing, tighten the bolts, 28 Nm, reattach the sensor, install the thermostat, and refill the system.
