2005 Jeep Liberty Thermostat Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Thermostat in a 2.4L Engine on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: First, drain the cooling system under the housing of the thermostat when servicing the one in a 2.4L vehicle. Take out the engine coolant temperature sensor along with the heater supply hose. takes out the housing bolts, removes both the housing and gasket and then the thermostat. Ensure all the gasket area surfaces are clean before mounting a wet gasket on the coolant outlet connector surface. Set the thermostat so that the air bleed is lined up with the number 12. Have the thermostat in place before you attach the coolant outlet connector and gasket. Set the outlet connector onto the thermostat housing and add the bolts, tightening them to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). After you fitted the radiator hose again, attach the engine coolant temperature sensor and top up the cooling system.
