2006 Chrysler Crossfire A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Hose in a Refrigerant System on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: First, take out the negative battery cable, then drain the refrigerant from your refrigerant system. Following this, unscrew the retainer nut from the first part of the expansion valve, slide both lines off their studs and pull the lines out of the expansion valve's clip. Hold up the car, taking care to support it and then take out the bolts from the compressor and the connecting line and assembly from the vehicle. Make sure the plumbing for refrigerant is free from kinks and sharp bends and bend the lines at least ten times the hose diameter. The flexible hose should also remain 80 millimeters (3 inches) away from the exhaust manifold during installation. Once you're sure the connections are tight and do not leak, attach the suction line to the compressor and tighten the mounting bolt to a torque of 23 N.m (18 ft. lbs.), then install the A/C compressor bolts. Slide both the suction line and liquid line over the expansion valve stud and fix the fastener to 10 N.m (88 in. lbs.). After that, attach the negative battery cable, release all remaining refrigerant and add more refrigerant to the system.
