2005 Chrysler Crossfire A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in an HVAC System for Suction Hose on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before doing any replacements, take out the negative battery cable and recover the refrigerant from the system. Pull off the nut on the expansion valve, loosen and slide the suction and liquid lines off their studs and finally remove the lines from the clip. Relieve the pressure, lift and support the vehicle, remove the bolts from the compressor and the suction line and then take out the suction line assembly on the vehicle. When installing, don't allow any sharp bends or kinks in the refrigerant plumbing; minimum bend radius should be ten times hose diameter and flexible hose lines should be 80 millimeters (3 inches) from the exhaust manifold. Make sure all leaks have been sealed and tightened, then install the suction line to the compressor and tighten its bolt to 23 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) immediately after followed by the A/C compressor bolts. Guide the suction line and liquid line up the valve stud, put the cap on and tighten the nut to 10 Nm (88 in. lbs.). Following that, put the negative battery terminal back on, draw out the refrigerant and charge the refrigerant system.
