After that, pull out the EGR tube mounting bolts from the intake manifold, unscrew the EGR tube flange nut at the EGR valve and remove the tube. Since loose dirt in the EGR tube can cause vacuum leaks and a rough idle, remove the old gasket when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the EGR tube and intake manifold. Attach the EGR tube flange nut loosely to the EGR valve and place a new gasket between the tube and the intake manifold when installing. screw the tube bolts onto the intake manifold and tighten them to 31 N.m (23 ft. lbs.), then go on to tighten the EGR tube flange nut to 11 N.m (95 in. lbs.). Now, insert the air cleaner housing.
