  A: Before servicing the air injection pump, take out the negative battery cable. After removing the air cleaner housing, disconnect the switch tube for the air pump and the air pump wiring connector. To remove it the normal way, remove the bolt from the retaining bracket and lift out the air pump. In the SRT procedure, connect the air pump discharge tube to the air pump, remove the three holding screws and slide the air pump off the bracket. It is important to insert the air pump into the retaining bracket, followed by adding and tightening the retaining bolt to 20 N.m (177 in. lbs.). Assemble the air pump harness connector and the switchover tube, fit the housing for the air cleaner into place and link the negative battery cable again. After setting up the SRT mounting bracket, fasten the air pump to it with retaining nuts tightened to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.), attach the connector of the air pump harness, assemble the air pump tube and finally restore the battery cable.
