- Q: How to Maintain Wiper Arms on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?A: The first thing to do in servicing the wipers is to open your hood and make sure the hood prop is fully extended. Lift the wiper arm so it is at its furthest back position then very gently remove the plastic cap at the pivot end of the arm. Take away the attachment nut from the wiper pivot shaft. Using the proper terminal puller, take out the wiper arm from the wiper pivot shaft tapered splines without doing any harm to them even if they show some corrosion. When the arm is free, put the pivot end of the wiper arm on the wiper pivot shaft and screw on the attachment nut until it's just tight. Make sure the wiper blade touches the glass and set the wiper arm with the center of the blade over the highest part of the dot matrix at the bottom of your windshield. Apply 19 N.m of force to the wiper arm retaining nut. In the end, press the plastic cap directly onto the wiper arm, covering the attachment nut, drop the hood prop outer sleeve and shut the hood.
