  A: Before working on the rocker arm assembly, take out the cylinder head cover and the spark plugs. Continuously rotate the crankshaft until the follower's lobe is aligned on its base circle and while you keep rotating, keep track to note that the piston is at least 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) below TDC. If these assemblies are to be reused, mark the original site where each piece was fitted for easy reinstallation. Apply Valve Spring Compressor 8215A and Adapter 8436 to gently press the valve assembly, so the rocker arm can be taken out. Open the rocker arm lash adjuster puncture and look inside for any damage, roller wear or a blocked hole and then change the components if needed. Lubricate the rocker arm with oil and use the Valve Spring Compressor 8215A and Adapter 8436 to allow the valve assembly to be moved downward so you can fit the rocker arm on the hydraulic lifter and valve stem. Perform the installation process for every rocker arm and then restore both the spark plugs and cylinder head cover.
