  A: Take off the cylinder head cover and remove the spark plugs if the rocker arm assembly service is done in-car with camshafts. Turn the engine to place the camshaft lobe from the follower you're removing on its base circle and ensure that the piston is not higher than 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) from TDC. When reusing cam follower assemblies, note the spots where they should go for future installation. Tap Special Tools 8215A and 8436 on the valve assembly, press them gently and lift the rocker arm out slowly. Check every rocker arm for signs of wear or breakage and change them if needed. Apply some clean engine oil to the rocker arm before using Special Tools 8215A and 8436 to gently push down on the valve assembly until you can put the rocker arm on the hydraulic lifter and valve stem. Do the process for every rocker arm, then put on the spark plugs and the cylinder head cover.
