In order to fix the water pump, unscrew the negative battery cable and empty the cooling system. Take out the timing belt and water pump. Check defects, wipe surfaces and fix a new O-ring seal. Reassemble and tighten screws, verify pump motion, reinstall components and fill up the cooling system.
