2006 Chrysler Town & Country Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Replace a Blower Motor Resistor on 2006 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Before servicing the blower motor resistor, turn off the air bag system by taking out the car's negative battery cable, waiting for two minutes and then isolate it. At least five minutes after turning off the blower should be enough for the resistor to cool since it heats up quite a bit during use. Don't turn on the blower motor unless the resistor is in place to avoid harming your vehicle. Make sure to remove the negative battery cable and then move the glove box off the instrument panel. After that, unplug the wire harnesses from the front blower motor resistor and remove the two screws holding it to the front HVAC case. Finally, pull out the resistor. At the installation stage, plug the new front blower motor resistor into the front HVAC housing and fix it using the two screws, tightened to 17 in. lbs. (2 N.m). Now, join the wire connectors to the resistor, fit the glove box back into place and lastly connect the battery cable to the negative battery terminal.
