2006 Dodge Charger Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Bleed a Brake Master Cylinder on 2006 Dodge Charger?
A: Before bleeding the brake master cylinder, clamp it in a vise by the area where it mounts, without adding any pressure to the rod, reservoir, seal or body. After that, put an Adapter 3, Special Tool 8822-2, into every outlet port and tighten it to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.) torque. Once finished, fasten a Bleeder Tube 1 on to each Adapter with 14 Nm (124 inch lb) torque and flex them so their funnels drop far into the fluid reservoir. Reach or exceed the MAX level in the reservoir with matching Mopar or replacement DOT 3 brake fluid to keep air from entering during bleeding. Pass a wooden dowel through each brake master cylinder like a pushrod 2, move the pistons down slowly and release, doing this repeatedly until no air bubbles are found, while keeping the fluid even with the tips of the bleeder tubes. After you're done bleeding, detach tubes 1 and adapters 3 from the outlet ports, block the ports with plugs and install the fill cap on the reservoir. After that, take out the brake master cylinder from the vise and fit it onto the vehicle.
