2006 Dodge Dakota A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an A/C Hose on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: Recover the refrigerant from its system and disconnect the negative battery cable before you work on the A/C discharge line. Get rid of the nut that fastens the A/C discharge line to the condenser, remove the line from the condenser and discard the O-ring and gasket. After that, take out the nut holding the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor, free the discharge line from the compressor and set aside the existing O-ring seal and gasket. Cover the fittings and ports on the condenser and compressor with plugs and tape the discharge line fittings, then remove the A/C discharge line from your engine compartment. While installing, carefully push the A/C discharge line into your engine compartment and take out the plugs or tape from both the discharge line fittings and the condenser and compressor ports. Smear the new rubber O-ring seals with refrigerant oil and use only the designed rubber O-ring and refrigerant oil to attach these to the discharge fittings. Connect the A/C discharge line to the compressor and hold it down with the nut, tightened to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.). After that, fit the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser and secure it with a nut, tightening it to the described value. After connecting the negative battery cable, clear the refrigerant from the system and add more refrigerant.
