2006 Dodge Grand Caravan Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose on a 3.3L/3.8L Engine for Supply Hose on 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: You should first open the power steering fluid reservoir and remove it as much of the fluid as you can by using a siphon pump. Use an oil drain pan to catch any liquid that is released from beneath the vehicle. The next step is to loosen the clamp holding the supply hose to the reservoir and take the hose out of the reservoir. Expand the tab on the hose's end by pulling on the clip to unclip it from the bracket near the front of the cylinder head. Keep in mind that you may have to remove the air cleaner housing to give you access to the supply hose at the pump. Get rid of the clamp joining the supply hose to the power steering pump, remove the hose from the pump and get it out of the car. During installation, attach the supply hose to the pump, then push the hose clamp onto the reservoir and make sure it goes past the bead on the pump's fitting. Position the routing clip on the supply hose so that it fits in the bracket hole and push it firmly on the cylinder head cover. Connect the supply hose to the reservoir, fix it in place using the hose clamp. After that, purge and circulate fluid through the power steering system using its initial working procedure and examine the system carefully for possible leaks.
