2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: When fixing the throttle body, take off the air cleaner tube at the device and then unplug the connectors at the IAC and TPS motors. Then, get rid of all control cables from the throttle lever and break the required vacuum lines. Take the three bolts holding the throttle body in place and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold, checking the old throttle body-to-intake manifold O-ring. Before you install, look at the O-ring between the throttle body and intake manifold and replace it if you see any damage. Wipe any dirt off the throttle body and intake manifold connectors and after that, set the new O-ring and the throttle body into place on the manifold. Set the throttle body in place with the three bolts and tighten them to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.) torque. After that, reconnect the control cables, the electrical connectors and the proper vacuum lines and lastly, install the air plenum.
